Chandler Has a Brand New Ride

The beginning of this month James & I took up bike riding. During the week we ride around our neighborhood and then on the weekends we head out to our favorite, only, trail at Getzendaner in Waxahachie. :) **Thanks Larry & Linda for the loan on the bikes, while we were shopping for ours.**

Visiting Grandpa David and Grandma Ruth in Los Alamos, NM. August 6-10.
We were welcomed in Santa Fe by this GORGEOUS double rainbow! :)

This is the really cool slide at Urban Park. There are rollers all the way down that you sit on, it gives the "older kids" a swift kick off the slide. FUN, though!

We had wanted to ride the ski lift up to the top of the ski area and hike down, but the lifts were closed (probably due to the fair & rodeo) so David led us on another, somewhat, elevated hike. In one area we were hiking through a meadow of wildflowers, BEAUTIFUL!!
The Fair and Rodeo happened to be in town the same weekend we were there. This was much different than the Texas State Fair we attend every year. Instead, of the rides there was a area of bounce houses set up for the kids. We assumed Chandler would enjoy the bounce houses since he had one at his FIRST birthday party....NOT THE CASE! He sat there the entire time, watching the other kids bounce.
James & I were able to spend some time hiking on a trail he used to hike as a kid. Fun times!

Alyssa, Matt, Collin & Katie: This picture is for you. Mack & Swirl are both doing GREAT, they are beginning to learn that stepping in the flowerbeds is forbidden territory! Swirl has made friends with all the dogs and Mack...well...he's still working on it. :) Hope you are all having a wonderful time and have recovered from the jet-lag.

His legs still aren't long enough so he enjoys pushing the tractor everywhere.

We became members of the Dallas Zoo and took our first trip this spring, Chandler loves the river in the Children's area.
Most mornings,weather permitting-I walk 2-8 miles @ the Waxahachie trail & Chandler is then rewarded with playtime @ the park.
May 9: My second Mother's Day...love this little man!
May 8: I ran my first 5K! I was running for completion not for time!! Yay me! :)

Aaa..chooo! HAPPY EASTER.
This morning after the motrin kicked in bringing down his 103 fever, we opened up all the fun things the Easter Bunny brought our sick little buddy.
With this crowd for his age group, we walked away with "4" eggs!
We saw the Easter Bunny ride in on a Harley....Whoo Hoo!
He had no fever and his mood was mellow so away we went to Getzendaner (sp) Park in Waxahachie. We met up with our friends Wanda and Campbell Hamilton.
By the look of his face don't you think I should've known the night would lead to a fever of 104 and a sleepless night for mom and dad.
He's getting the hang of it. :)

Saturday we practiced hunting easter eggs before we headed to Waxahachie's City Wide Egg Hunt.

17 things about our little guy:

1. He loves to be outside and his favorite thing to do at home is chase the chickens back into the pasture. He has come close to catching one too. It's so funny to watch.
2. He loves animals.
3. His vocabulary includes: mama, dada, dog, cat, duck, look, book, fish, truck, car, & at. His first sentence was: "Look at dog" (heard by his dada)
4. The boy doesn't walk he runs...everywhere! Resulting in skinned knees, especially now that it is shorts weather! YEA!
5. He like to be bare-foot, much like his mother...even walking in the grass!
6. He loves to climb on things.
7. He loves to open and close things, his most recent discovery has been the toilet lid and the oven door! YIKES!!!
8. He can FLUSH the toilet.
9. He loves his cars and trucks, especially spinning the wheels.
10. He can shake his head no....no means no and no means yes.
11. He is fasincated with buttons. Buttons on our cell phones, remote controls, DVD, and VCR.
12. He likes routine: bedtime-bath (most nights), book, prayers and bed.
13. He has transitioned to 1 nap a day.
14. He is an excellent eater, always has been.
15. He loves the water.
16. We still NEED the paci, note I said "we". Mom & dad are still a little dependent on it too.
17. Poor little guy has allergies. Pointing out his cute, crusty nose. :)

Day One of Rain: Took a nice long nap in a very weird position!

So Mr. Meteorologist was predicting lots of rain for the rest of the week (he wasn't kidding...we received 3",possibly more) so Chandler and I made the most of our last warm/dry day and had fun on the farm.
Love this picture...you would think he is sleep deprived by the bags under his eyes but oh no...it's the cheeks! He comes by them naturally! :)

Finally, I've been able to blog about our final stop...Cabo! This was by far my favorite place. We didn't have much time here but we certainly made the most of it.
We were amazed at all the pelicans....they were everywhere!

On our boat ride out to the Arch and Lover's Beach they served complimentary margaritas, did I mention this was at 9:30 in the morning?! That was a first!!

James snorkeling in Chileno Bay. This was our first time snorkeling, it was alot of fun, however, I think I would have enjoyed it more if the water was a little warmer!
Do you see the whales? We just happened to be cruisin' during their peak migration season. It was so neat to see these magnificant creatures in the wild.

Mazatlan was my least favorite port. It didn't help that the morning we pulled into port it was EXTREMELY foggy. There were also soliders there at the port to greet us, guns and all! We enjoyed our open-air cab ride into the Golden Zone for shopping and strolling along the beach.

James & I celebrated our 6 year wedding anniversary here back in October and the whole time kept saying what a fun time,we knew, Chandler would have here. Sooo...away we went one springish February day. At first we experienced all the waterpark had to offer, well what we could with a 16 month old. We made several laps around the lazyriver, splashed in the wave pool, checked out 3 of the kiddie areas and finally ended up spending a majority of our time with the fountains in one of the kiddie pools. Chandler loved them! I had hoped to get some better pictures, Chandler wouldn't stay still (nothing new) so most of these are all "ACTION" shots with some neat water shots too.
Chandler was so excited to be here he kept running the length of the room laughing.
...and he's off to the fountains once again.
He loved the circle 'o fountains, as James & I like to call it.

He was absolutely fearless in and around the water. Swimming lessons are defintely in order for this lil' waterbaby.
Belly time-he seems to love this position. We catch him alot laying like this, it's usually while he's pushing a car, truck or tractor in front of him. You can already see those "mechanical" wheels a turnin'.

Everynight Chandler always has stories read to him, tonight was no different EXCEPT the books were out of order! James started with Goodnight Moon. James was only able to read 3 or 4 pages until Chandler slapped the book down. He climbed out of James' lap, picked up Llama Llama Red Pajama, climbed back in James' lap and listened while the story was read, not once but twice, to him! James and I got a good laugh and yes we read this story everynight. Thanks Grammy! :) Our BABY is growing up!!

Here's what Santa left Chandler, a lil' quad and his very own KUBOTA tractor!
Push it from the front and push it from the rear that's the only way to make this tractor go!
He is still too little to make his KUBOTA go, but he enjoys pushing it back and forth into things.
He wasn't quite sure of his lil' quad at first. However, once he figured out that the red button made him go it wasn't long till he was driving himself into all the walls and furniture.

Christmas Tree Discovery

So, I have had the Christmas tree up now since the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Chandler has noticed it's arrival and up until yesterday would only look at the tree. He had a fun time pulling a few ornaments off and examining them closely. Yes, I'm happy to post my Christmas shopping is COMPLETE! :)

Tonight we had fun being silly. James was pulling Chandler around in his wagon, and I happened to catch Chandler with a scared look on his face, moments before he was smiling...I mean come on, "Would this face lie ?" Thanks Steph for the shirt...do you remember giving that to him? I think you picked it out for him before he was born.

Drew, James and Larry...Thanks Larry for sending the pictures, since I forgot my camera! :(

This past weekend we drove out to East Texas, Van, and celebrated Thanksgiving with Drew. L to R: Larry, Drew, Bailey, Jacob, my head and Chandler. Linda was taking the photo and James and Emma were out counting dogs. HA...we had more dogs there than people...CRAZY! (Actually, I'm not sure where they were) We skipped the traditional feast and went for grilled burgers and a campfire. Fun times! :)

One, EARLY, morning Chandler and I headed to Stephenville to deliver donuts and invoices to a board meeting. James and our crew had just completed a massive clearing project there. **The picture above was only taken for blogger and scrapbooking purposes**

We stopped and had some fun at the park before heading back home to Red Oak. The boy loves to swing.

Here is the mastery of climbing onto the lid of the dishwasher. He surprised me oneday; I had my back to him briefly, pouring him milk...I'm sure, and when I turned back around there he was sitting as PROUD as could be.

One of Chandler's many discoveries has been the dishwasher. The boy is fascinated with it. He loves to open and close the lid and throw all the silverware out on the floor, yes, I keep the knives up and away!

James turned 33 on the 8th so he celebrated with a NEW CAR...a Honda Fit. Aside from the Expedition we purchased in '04 this was his first NEW car. I know he doesn't look all that thrilled in this picture, but it had been a long day for him.

We had a small, fun party at his parents house in Red Oak. Thanks Linda for the yummy enchiladas and awesome German Chocolate Cake...as you know, two of J's favorites!

Chandler has enjoyed playing with the older kids lately. This day the Brandt kiddos came for a visit. Lucas all kicked back and relaxed.

Well, here we are at 4 months already and our monthly photo with Jerry! We have to wait for our checkup because we got our first cold which turned into a URI & ear infection. However, he did weigh in today at a healthy 16 lbs & 4 oz! Isn't he precious?! :)

Here is our little man, approximately weighing in at 4.5 lbs & I'm only into my 31st week!! He is a bit on the large side and I have another sono scheduled in 4 weeks to check his size/weight. I think he takes after his mother as I was a hefty 9lb 4 0z @ birth! We are thinking he might be coming a few weeks early, we are certainly ready to meet our little miracle! You might have noticed the title, that isn't the name we have officially decided to go with that's just what his Grammy (my mom) calls him because James & I are still undecided. I love my cats, what can I say?! Since I was a little girl I have always taken in "strays". Somethings never change! James married into cats and I married into dogs. Together we love all 10 (6 cats & 4 dogs) of our critters! Our vet loves us too! :)

Here it is the indoor/outdoor cat house, complete with a bed, "love"seat, climbing tree, kitty decorations, ceiling fan, and A/C! Are they rotten or what? :)

Kubota Texas sized

Here is the new and improved cab Kubota tractor AKA Jill (yes, we name our tractors: Jack, Jill & Junior) James modified her just a "little"...ha... as you can see he extended the rear wheel base and will add 220 lb weights to the front end. My favorite addition was the radio he installed. This modification will actually help in mowing the back slopes on the dams, allowing for side to side mowing rather than the slower techinque, up & down. Only in TEXAS! :)

Just wanted to bring you all up to date. I am currently in between my 17-18th week of pregnancy. We find out next week if Baby Moir is a boy or a girl, keep a watchful eye on the mailbox....as that is where the news will be shared! Baby Moir has been quite the little active one these days, I felt the first kick on the 23rd of May and daily feel his/her movements! Such a EXCITING time in our lives! We appreciate all the prayers!!

I hope you aren't disappointed that there are no "belly shots" wouldn't want to scare any of ya! As the title states...I am a growin'! :)

So you get the picture...this is our rain gauge on Thur., after dumping it out Fri. morning with the forecast of more rain, Sat morning it measured the same! When you add the 2" we received on Tues. that is a WHOPPING total of 10" in 1 week! Saturday afternoon we packed up our, water loving, meat-heads and checked out some of the "active/full" dams we have recently cleared.
